"The Mitcham-Frankston toll road project pillaged a number of markets last year – the largest urban road and biggest greenfield project undertaken in Australia to date; and the largest underwritten IPO in Australia in 2004.
But the real innovation was in the equity structure. The deal incorporated a toll road IPO where investors paid for the stocks in two installments – in effect a partly paid IPO. It also featured the first use of a distributions reinvestment plan (DRP) to meet construction phase equity distributions, which are 100% tax deferred during construction."
