After a slow start, governments are now responding to climate change with a variety of tax incentives for 'green' asset investment. ABN AMRO's Structured Funding and Investments team (SFI) offers access to a wide range of tax efficient structures for these environmental investments.
In the US, for example, tax incentives allow tax sheltering to accrue to investors in renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and biofuels. In the Netherlands up to 144% of the capital cost of environmental machinery can be written down, while other European countries are increasingly moving away from penalising environmental degradation to offering tax incentives instead.

Unlike boutique-style advisory services that have recently appeared, we can act as a principal and underwriter of eco-assets and initiatives. We have expertise in the procurement and holding of equipment, and the knowledge to identify a ready secondary market for syndicated sales or credit support / hedging.
